Are There Any Side Effects?

One of the great advantages of acupuncture is that it has virtually no negative side effects. As the energy in the body is adjusted and the natural chemicals and hormones are released, healing begins to take place.

During an acupuncture treatment, you may feel a deep, dull pressure or surging sensation after the needle has been placed. This is called a Qi sensation (pronounced "chee"). With certain points, this indicates that the correct point has been located and that the body’s energy has been reached.

Most patients feel very relaxed during and after an acupuncture treatment. You may also notice changes in your sleep patterns, digestion, menstrual cycle and emotional attitude. These are all normal and positive side benefits of treatment.

Acupuncture is successful in treating many difficult & painful conditions. It is also exceptional for reducing stress and tension, the cause of many emotional and physical complaints.
